Staff Profiles Jayne is a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She joined the University of Pittsburgh's Internal Audit Department in April 1991, and is a Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner. Rick received his B.S. degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 1983. Before joining the Internal Audit Staff in 1998, Rick worked in various capacities, including auditing and regulatory compliance, in the banking industry. Ray is a graduate of Saint Vincent College with a B.A. degree in Mathematics. He also earned his MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Ray recently joined the Internal Audit Department in March 2009. Prior to coming to the University of Pittsburgh, he held various professional positions at Allegheny Ludlum, Allegheny Technologies, Strategic Energy and Direct Energy. His work experience includes internal auditing, cost accounting, and manufacturing excellence, while also managing functions in price administration, accounts receivable and billing operations.
Patrick received his B.S. in Accounting from Penn State University in 2003. Before joining the Internal Audit Staff in July 2006, Patrick was an external auditor with a client base focused primarily in the banking industry as well as post-secondary education. He is currently in the process of obtaining his CPA license and has started taking classes towards his MBA at the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business. Brian received his BSBA in 2008 from the College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh. He began working for the Internal Audit Department in May 2008 as a student intern. In March 2009, he was hired as a staff auditor.
Gwen has over 20 years professional experience. Her background includes internal auditing, corporate tax accounting, customer accounting, and global purchasing compliance. Prior to joining the University of Pittsburgh, she held professional positions with Duquesne University, Duquesne Light, US Steel, Jefferson Wells, and Alcoa. Gwen’s internal audit experience includes; performing SOX reviews, compliance audits, financial audits, and operational audits.
Gwen has a BA degree and an MS degree from Duquesne University and an Accounting Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. She achieved the accreditation for performing Internal Quality Assessments with the Institute of Internal Auditors. Gwen is a past president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Maria is an April 2004 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She joined the Internal Audit staff in May of 2004 and passed the CPA exam in November 2005.
John received his BSBA in 2003 from the College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh and joined the Internal Audit staff in July 2003. He has received an MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business in July 2007.
Jaye received a B.A. degree in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College in May 2001. In October 2001, Jaye began her professional career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she worked for over 6 years and became a licensed CPA in July 2007.
