I.    SCOPE

      This policy affirms the officers of the Board of Trustees. The following is excerpted from

       the University of Pittsburgh BYLAWS.   (See Appendix A.)

II.    POLICY

       A.    The officers of the Corporation shall be a Chairperson of the Board of Trustees; the

               Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer; the Provost; the Treasurer; and the

               Secretary; and may include a Chairperson Designate of the Board of Trustees; one

               or more Vice Chancellors or Executive Assistant Chancellors; one or more Assistant

               Treasurers; one or more Associate or Assistant Secretaries; and such other officers

               as the Board may elect.

       B.    Such officers elected annually by the Board include:

               -     Chairperson

               -      Chairperson Designate

               -      Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer

               -      Treasurer

               -      Secretary

               -      One or more Assistant Treasurers

               -      One or more Associate or Assistant Secretaries

       C.     The terms of all officers shall extend until their successors have been elected or until

                their earlier death, resignation, or removal by the Board or, in the case of officers

                other than the Chairperson and the Chairperson Designate, removal by the

                Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer.
